What Lies Beneath (RM Maker Game Jam 2025)
What Lies Beneath is a story about a traveler called Caine, who falls into a mysterious dungeon on his way back home to his daughter.
Will he be able to escape the dungeon? Or will he learn about even deeper and darker secrets about the world they live in?
What Lies Beneath is a fusion of old Gameboy Zelda games and JRPG combat with a sprinkle of soul-like vibe.

There's a softlock when you fight the worm boss, if you die then the Autosave keeps you stuck in the Game Over screen even if you try to continue the game. But it was really fun up until that point!
That's super odd. Didn't show up with my other play tests. I'll see what I can do. Does it happen with the previous rat boss?
I didn't die while I was fighting the rat boss so I wasn't sure, maybe it was because I was playing on the website version? Hopefully it can be fixed!
That makes sense now. I think I know what happened. I'll implement a fix and test it out. Try to push out the update today. Thanks sewer_rodent. :)

I love this game. You can feel the effort the developer poured into it in every aspect from music, story, gameplay
